Laser Cutting & Engraving

Glowforge Laser

This has by far, been one of the best things I've ever bought. Though, I waited over 2 years to get my hands on it (it was the most funded KickStarter ever but manufacturing a "perfect" production model took way too long) but it was worth the wait.

I've created too many things with this machine to count. Laser engraved coasters, LED backlit signs, laser cut letters for various signs and a tombstone and even the front panel of a vintage looking TV that is actually an iPad and Bluetooth speaker case.

Decals & Templates

Vinyl Cutter

I originally bought this to create decals for clients, which I have done and still do, however, I get more use out of this by creating templates for my signs.

I can simply create the graphic, cut it out and place it on the wood. I then spray paint over the template and it leaves behind a template that I can trace with my router. It's still hand carving, however.

I can do vinyl decals and templates up to 24" wide by as long as needed. Vinyls rolls are usually available 10 or 30 ft lengths.

Computer Controlled Carving

Inventables X-Carve (CNC)

This machine will do the carving for me. It's a 3D Carver powered by a DeWalt 611 spindle and capable of cutting your designs out of wood, plastic and soft metals.

It's a lot like using the Glowforge or vinyl cutter, in fact, I can start out using the same .SVG graphic files that I created for them, and use it on this, but there are options for type of bits, depth and more.

Metal Cutting & Welding

Langmuir Systems Crossfire Plasma (CNC)

Much like the above X-Carve, this is also a CNC machine, but this one cuts metal.. up to 1/2 inch.

Cut intricate digital designs faster and more accurately than any other metalworking power tool. I can create with some of the world’s strongest and most durable materials. From automotive parts, to real structural components, to weatherproof art and signage.
